I met the Branch Family during my stay in Portland, Oregon while I was visiting and photographing good friends of mine. I knew I wanted to take full advantage of the beautiful fall colors during my stay so I cast my net wide hoping to meet another family who wished to update their family photos.
I connected with Jackie over instagram. She told me they hadn’t had any family photos since welcoming little Sebastian into the world and that they needed family photos. I have to admit, I was already smitten with how cute their family was just by her instagram posts but once I got to hold Sebi the baby fever kicked into overdrive.
He was so well behaved and just the sweetest little guy. I went home that evening, strategising how I could convince my husband to give me a little boy as cute as Sebi.
Jackie and Chris booked a mini session, when I was finished editing I couldn’t believe just how many photos I had, it was hard to narrow down my favorites but once I did I had close to 50 images that I was elated to deliver. The botanical gardens of Crystal Springs in Portland gave us the most magical backdrop- it wasn’t hard to bring out the natural beauty at all.
Jackie did amazing with their outfits! I love love love when I get to work with clients on their wardrobe. Jackie barely needed coaching, her whole family looked perfect! Though I do love the endless summer of Hawaii, there is something to be said for crisp fall air and cozy fall fashion.
Don’t worry, we had time to get those snuggly couples photos as well.
Can you believe these fall colors?!
I am still all heart eyes over this session, this family and that solar flare!
Chris was such a great sport. Let’s be honest men aren’t normally as eager for photos as their better halves. Even mine has put a limit on how many photo shoots we do a year. I’ve talked him into one couples, a Father’s Day shoot, one family and then our christmas cards. I feel like thats bare minimum- I want to document every moment of our lives!
Even though we had chilly Oregon weather, little Sebi was such a champ and the most precious little boy.
Ok the baby fever is coming back. With two girls I think I’ll just have to settle with playing Auntie Storm with all the cute babies I’ll get to snuggle this year. I can’t wait to return to Portland and see just how big Sebi has gotten.
